The short story is this -- someone with an ax to grind against me called and filed a complaint, and Pickens County, SC Animal Control officers with badges and guns raided my house on September 15, 2010, and without any kind of paperwork, warrant, or even giving me their names, took 16 of my rescue and personal cats. Things have pretty much gone downhill since then. I've been having chest pains (especially in times of great stress), panic attacks, nausea, vomiting, nightmares, I can't sleep, and now I have no appetite. But I don't care about me. I care about my cats. Pickens County does not have a very good track record with animals that go into the animal shelter. You can hear Officer Green say one one of the videos here on the site that they get 300 cats in and 30 adopted. Those are sad numbers. So I am convinced that if Donnie Green gets his way and he gets my cats, it will be a death sentence for them. And they don't deserve that.
